Mrs. Mary Ama Bawa is an accomplished broadcast journalist and academic in the field of communication and media studies, with a notable career that spans both academia and practical experience in broadcast media. With nearly two years of hands-on experience in the dynamic world of broadcast media, she has successfully transitioned her expertise into the critical area of cybersecurity, where her contributions have been nothing short of transformative.
In Ghana's rapidly evolving cybersecurity landscape, Ama has played a pivotal role in leading communication strategies that have significantly enhanced cybersecurity capacity building and awareness creation across the nation. She combines her expertise with a deep and nuanced understanding of media relations, project management, strategic communication and stakeholder engagement, connecting with diverse audiences, from policymakers to the public, through meaningful collaborations on cybersecurity awareness.
Before joining the Cyber Security Authority, Ama was the host of the Morning Show on ATL FM, and a lecturer at the Department of Communication Studies, University of Cape Coast. She has served as the Communications Lead for the Cyber Security Authority and is presently the Communications Director for the Institute of ICT Professionals Ghana, and Project Manager at the Cyber Security Authority. She is from Dutch Komenda in the Central Region and serves in the Ministry with her husband at the Calvary Charismatic Centre, Cape Coast as a marriage counselor and youth coach.
